OnePlus today introduced OxygenOS 14, which is based on Android 14 and is the latest operating system overlay for its phones. There are a lot of updates on board that should make using a OnePlus phone not just more fun but more productive.
First up is the Smart Cutout feature that allows you to select a person or pet in an image or even a paused video and remove the background. Up to three subjects can be identified in a single photo and OnePlus says that this feature can extract a subject from a complex background or one that shares a similar color scheme with the subject. Another photo-friendly feature in OxygenOS 14 is Auto Pixelate 2.0, which makes it easier to keep private information in photos secret. Auto Pixelate 2.0 can detect formats like receipts, ID documents, and license plates. From there, you just tap on an area to censor that information.
For productivity, there's a File Dock feature that lets you collect a bunch of content like images, text, or links and put them in a floating dock. Then you can go to other apps and still have access to whatever is in that dock. The Notes app gets a minor update which allows for different fonts and text sizes. For people who have multiple devices running OxygenOS 14, Multi-Screen Connect 2.0 lets you connect those together to share connectivity and files.
If you're moving over to a OnePlus phone like the OnePlus 11, OxygenOS 14 comes with Clone Phone 2.0. The previous version would migrate data like contacts and messages. This revised tool adds the ability to sync things like network information for Wi-Fi, your accounts, and even wallet information.
