Not even One-Punch Man can escape the lure of creating its own Multiverse. The idea has been all the rage in entertainment franchises recently, and the latest chapter of the hit manga by One and Yusuke Murata teased that Saitama could soon have his own selection of alternate realities.
DC Comics was the first major publisher to make alternate realities a prominent feature of its own universe, but Marvel really made the concept popular and commercially successful in recent years. Other comics, movies, and TV franchises followed suit, and manga was not exempt. Dragon Ball Super quickly introduced the idea of parallel universes, which was a great way to revitalize a decades-old franchise and introduce both brand-new characters and re-imagined versions of old ones. One-Punch Man seemed immune to the lure of the Multiverse, until the recent confrontation between Saitama and Garou literally blasted open the doors of time and space.

Chapter #168 of the manga shows the climatic ending of the biggest fight in One-Punch Man history, and it goes well beyond what fans could expect. While being overwhelmed by Saitama, Garou realizes that, after receiving his huge power-up from God, he has accidentally killed the bystanders, including the young boy Tareo, who was his only supporter. Crushed by guilt and regret, Garou asks Saitama to watch and copy his final technique, which allows him to travel back in time.
