Charlize Theron is joined in The Old Guard 2 by Uma Thurman and Henry Golding. Netflix unleashed the graphic novel adaptation The Old Guard in 2020 with Oscar-winner Theron in the lead role. The action movie proved big enough on the streamer, garnering a reported 186 million hours viewed in its first 28 days, that talk of a sequel immediately followed.
Indeed all those fans’ hopes of The Old Guard 2 coming to fruition were realized in 2021 when Theron herself announced that a script was ready and that the film would begin shooting in early 2022. Old Guard stars KiKi Layne, Matthias Schoenaerts, Marwan Kenzari, Luca Marinelli, Veronica Ngo and Chiwetel Ejiofor were also confirmed to be coming back alongside Theron.
