Original Fallout co-creators Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky have expressed their enthusiasm for a potential Fallout New Vegas remaster.
The long-time partners, who most recently co-directed Obsidian’s The Outer Worlds, told The Gamer that they’d be keen to see the studio’s 2010 Fallout game revisited.
“Not that it’s up to me, but wouldn’t a graphical remaster of Fallout New Vegas be awesome?” Cain said in a recent interview.
“It would be awesome”, Boyarsky agreed.
Last year, it was claimed that very early talks had been held about a potential Fallout New Vegas sequel, with Obsidian and Bethesda owner Microsoft reportedly expressing a lot of interest in making it happen.
And Obsidian CEO Feargus Urquhart recently said he’d love to work on another Fallout game given the chance.
However, the RPG veteran, who was involved in the production of the first two Fallout games during his time at Black Isle Studios and Interplay Entertainment in the late 1990s, told Game Pressure that a new Fallout game from the studio wasn’t currently on the cards.
“We’re not working on Fallout, and we haven’t even talked about what it would be”, he claimed.
Earlier today, publisher Private Division announced The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
Set for release next week, the updated version of Obsidian’s 2019 sci-fi game features higher resolution graphics, a dynamic weather system, overhauled lighting and environments, improved performance and load times, enhanced details on characters, and an increased level cap.
