Obi-Wan Kenobiwriter Joby Harold teases a hunt for remaining Jedi in the upcoming Disney+ series. Obi-Wan Kenobi is perhaps the most highly anticipated series to come to Disney's Star Wars universe to date. Many fans have been excited to learn that Ewan McGregor, who originally starred in the Star Wars prequel trilogy, will once again be returning to his iconic role of Obi-Wan in the new series. Obi-Wan Kenobi will follow the iconic Jedi Master after the events of Revenge of the Sith as he watches over young Luke Skywalker while hiding from the Empire on the desert planet of Tatooine. After a very long wait, Obi-Wan Kenobi is due to begin streaming on May 27th.
According to its writers, Obi-Wan Kenobi is set 10 years after Revenge of the Sith. As many may remember, that film did not end in such a happy place. Anakin Skywalker (played by Hayden Christensen, who will also be returning in the new series) turned to the Dark side and became Darth Vader. He spearheaded the Empire's massacre of the Jedi Order in one of the saddest sequences in the prequels. Of course, some of the Jedi were able to survive Order 66. Over the years, Star Wars canon has revealed others besides Obi-Wan and Yoda managed to escape, and this will be a key aspect of Obi-Wan Kenobi.

In a recent interview with EW, series writer Harold has spoken about the world viewers will find themselves in in Obi-Wan Kenobi episode 1. According to Harold, 10 years later the Empire is still busy «wiping out» the Jedi order.
