NVIDIA's DLSS 3.5 is coming out relatively soon with Cyberpunk 2077 being the first AAA title to utilize it and we now have a comparison video showcasing the big improvement the tech brings with its superior upscaling capabilities.
Yesterday, NVIDIA went public with its DLSS 3.5 SDK which also included DLL files that can easily be swapped within any game that supports DLSS. We mentioned the whole process of injecting DLSS in a DLSS game here so do check it out if you plan on doing so yourself. As expected, comparisons of the new DLSS 3.5 upscaling technology are already being made and shown against the current DLSS 3.1 version.
Benchmarking YouTuber, MxBenchmarkPC, has published a video showcasing a comparison with DLSS 3.5 enabled and DLSS 3.1 enabled within Cyberpunk 2077. The video also shows DLSS 3.5 FG (Frame Generation) which runs just as well without FG enabled on the latest upscaling version. The new super-sampling model seems to have been given another AI-boosted kick as seen in one of the sections of the video where the caged fence displays fewer artifacts compared with DLSS 3.5 versus DLSS 3.1.1.
This is just one aspect of the game where DLSS 3.5 shines over DLSS 3.1 and we can expect even more enhancements once the final version is rolled out early next month. It's great to see that the latest DLSS update doesn't only bring ray reconstruction which is undoubtedly the biggest feature of the new release. The new Ray Reconstruction technology will not only deliver enhanced GI & RT capabilities to games that support it but also benefit the performance.
Currently, the tech needs to be enabled within the engine for it to run so swapping the DLSS files isn't going to make it work at all but we will keep you updated with
