Ever since Cyberpunk 2077's game-changing 2.0 update was announced, fans have been wondering when it'll actually launch. Obviously, it's always been assumed that the patch will arrive ahead of the Phantom Liberty expansion on the 26th September, since the DLC incorporates a lot of the new systems and mechanics — like car combat — introduced through the update.
So when is 2.0 dropping? Well, unfortunately, we still don't have a confirmed date, but during the developer's latest stream, CD Projekt Red said that it'll launch «a little bit before» Phantom Liberty. «A few days, weeks, who knows?», the stream's host added, towards the end of the show.
CDPR's comments came across as being quite cheeky, so we're tempted to believe that 2.0 will release soon-ish. Just to recap, the free update makes significant changes to Cyberpunk 2077. It completely overhauls skill trees, gives the game a proper police system, adds car combat, reworks cyberware, slots in dynamic missions and open world events, and more.
And you can see some of 2.0's additions in action via the aforementioned livestream. The whole thing's archived on CDPR's Twitch channel, and it goes in-depth on the police system, some of the redone skill trees, and car combat. It also features a chunk of raw Phantom Liberty gameplay.

Super, super stoked about 2.0. Might even start a brand new play through with it!
