In Spider-Man: No Way Home, Doctor Octopus is aware that Norman Osborn was the Green Goblin — but how exactly did he know that if the information was never out to the public in the Raimi films? By bringing together villains from all previous Spider-Man movies, No Way Home made it possible for interactions that many previously only dreamed would happen. In addition to seeing the three versions of Spider-Man interacting on the big screen, the dynamic between the multiversal villains made for some of the film's best moments.
The fact that Alfred Molina's Doctor Octopus and Willem Dafoe's Norman Osborn, two of the most iconic Spider-Man villains in the movies, finally interact on screen was one of the highlights of No Way Home. Each as significant to their film as the other, Norman and Octavius never interacted in the Raimi films, as the former died at the end of Spider-Man. Thanks to the Multiverse, however, the meeting between the fan-favorite characters finally took place.

Upon learning of the Green Goblin's attack in this new universe, Octavius mentions that this villain was Norman Osborn in his world, and that the scientist had died fighting Spider-Man. However, in the Raimi films, the information that Norman was the Green Goblin was made public. In fact, the only people who knew of the Green Goblin's identity were Norman's butler Bernard, Peter Parker, and later Harry Osborn. It was never clear how much Harry knew about his father's secrets and why he got in Spider-Man's way, but the character seemed startled to discover the «goblin's lab» at the end of Spider-Man 2.
