The Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 ’18 featured prominently in the upcoming Gran Turismo film will soon be added to Gran Turismo 7.
The game’s next update, Update 1.36, will go live on August 7. Players won’t have to purchase the new car as it’ll be included as a free gift until September 28. It’s unclear if the car will then be available through normal means in the game.
The update also includes a skin for the car which will recreate the car’s look in the upcoming film.
Alongside the Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 ’18, the update will add the Chevrolet Corvette (C1) ‘58, Maserati MC20 ‘20, Toyota Ambulance Himedic ’21* and the Toyota GR Corolla MORIZO Edition ‘22.
The movie, which is set to release on August 11, is based on the true story of Jann Mardenborough, who won the GT Academy esports tournament in 2011 and is now a professional racer competing in the Japanese Super GT series.
It’s directed by Neill Blomkamp (Demonic, Chappie, Elysium, District 9) from a script written by Jason Hall (American Sniper) and Zach Baylin (King Richard).
It stars Orlando Bloom, David Harbour, Djimon Hounsou, Geri Horner, and Archie Madekwe as Mardenborough.
PlayStation Productions’ Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan are among the film’s producers, while Gran Turismo creator and Polyphony Digital boss Kazunori Yamauchi is serving as an executive producer.
