Nintendo has launched a new subscription service exclusively in Japan. Not the sort of subscription service that gives you access to retro libraries like the Expansion Pack, but one that will allow Switch owners the opportunity to send their console to Nintendo for repairs should something go wrong.
The reveal that Nintendo has launched the new service, which has been dubbed Wild Care, comes courtesy of VGC. The new service is exclusively available in Japan and costs 200 yen ($1.48) per month or 2000 yen ($14.77) per year. The service covers all Switch models, as well as their docks, AC adaptors, and perhaps most notably of all, Joy-Con.

Most notably Joy-Con because the Switch controllers suffering from drift is an issue that has plagued Nintendo almost as long as its newest console has been on the market. So much so that there are a number of lawsuits against the company regarding drift pending, and it was recently revealed as many as two in five Joy-Con suffer from the issue. Wild Care will presumably allow Switch owners to send their Joy-Con to Nintendo to be repaired or replaced.
In fact, you'll be able to have your Switch, or elements of it, repaired up to six times per year if subscribed to the new service. Two of those repairs can include a full replacement of your console if needed and will cover repairs up to 100,000 yen ($739) over the course of an entire year. It doesn't just cover issues at the fault of Nintendo either. You can also send your hardware away to be repaired at no additional cost should it get water damaged or you break it accidentally. Plus, Nintendo will cover the shipping costs.
The only bad news right now is Nintendo hasn't clarified
