A number of videos showing off Skate 4 have leaked online.
The videos, which are linked to on Reddit, include an introduction to the upcoming game as well as general gameplay.
Last week EA showed off what it called “pre-pre-pre-alpha” footage of the game and invited players to sign up to closed playtests.
In April it was claimed that Skate 4 will include an online free skate mode which lets users hang out and build skateparks together.
This is corroborated in the leaked videos, which describe Fun City as a persistent, massively multiplayer playspace.
Players can use a spectate mode to see what’s going on in different parts of Fun City and then instantly teleport between them to participate.
One video shows how players can use a build kit to modify existing spaces and create their own skateparks.
Players can also take photos and videos, personalise them, and then share them with the community.
And there are new off-board controls which can be used to create new tricks.
The upcoming game, which has yet to be given an official title, is in development at Full Circle, a new Vancouver-based EA studio headed up by former Xbox Live general manager Daniel McCulloch, who spent 15 years with Microsoft’s gaming business before departing in 2020.
EA CEO Andrew Wilson previously said he believes the company can grow the appeal of the Skate series by focusing on industry trends around user-generated content, open-worlds and community.
