The Miis are back in Switch Sports with a serious upgrade. They’re getting upgraded facial features, fully articulated arms and legs, and even fingers. And if you don’t like it, you can still use the old-style Miis from the original Wii Sports, including Mii Matt.
Mii Matt was confirmed in a datamine soon after Switch Sports was announced last February alongside a full roster of bots from Mii Party. The datamine came from the Switch Sports playtest, but it didn’t include information on what Mii Matt would look like.

Today, Nintendo released updated screenshots showcasing the old-school Miis in action. Matt is front and center in Switch Sports’ Chambara game mode wielding twin glowing sticks, still bald, and still badass. In fact, he even looks a little angrier than he did back in his Wii Sports days.
"Wii Sports introduced Mii characters, and #NintendoSwitchSports features Sportsmates! If you have some Mii characters you’re fond of though," confirms Nintendo, "you can recreate them on your Nintendo Switch."
In her preview, Jade called Nintendo Switch Sports a "solid revival that will appeal to casual and hardcore players alike." She didn't particularly care for the new Miis, however, so I'm sure she'll be happy to see Matt's grumpy face returning to Switch Sports.
