Nintendo's latest wave of copyright strikes has taken its toll on one YouTuber, who plans to delete their popular channel after receiving a further 2,200 takedown notices. GilvaSunner, who's hosted Nintendo music for 11 years now, says they will delete the channel this Friday.
GilvaSunner, who already faced 1,300 copyright strikes over the weekend, says it's "really not worth" keeping the channel going anymore. Many in the community are sad to see this development, as this channel was one of the few ways to listen to Nintendo soundtracks without an official release.

"After thinking about this a lot over the past few days, I’ve decided that at this point it’s really not worth it to keep the channel up any longer, and will therefore delete the GilvaSunner YouTube channel (or what’s left of it) this coming Friday", the announcement opens (thanks, Nintendo Life). "I know this is disappointing to read for a lot of you, but I hope you can respect my decision to want to move on at this point."
GilvaSunner had long been targeted by Nintendo, as many other content creators have over the years. The YouTuber has documented these legal challenges on the videos since 2019, but this latest wave was the most excessive. It's worth noting that this was despite GilvaSunner claiming they don't monetize the videos, and many of the games in question never having their soundtracks released in an official capacity.
