Actor and comedic legend Bill Murray showed off an impressive golf trick over the weekend, leading fans to make Caddyshack comparisons. Murray starred in the beloved 1980 comedy as Carl Spackler, an assistant greens keeper with an especially mischievous streak. Aside from Murray, the film starred other greats such as Rodney Dangerfield and Chevy Chase and remains one of the most well-known titles of Murray’s lengthy comedic film career.
In addition to his onscreen work, Murray – who began his career in television in the early days of SNL – is also well known for his fun-loving demeanor and willingness to seek out a good time in everything from random house parties to small local pubs to a golf cart on the streets of Stockholm, Sweden. In fact, the legend around Murray’s uncanny ability to turn up when least expected has created a mystique around the lively 71-year-old. Fans are always eager to hear (or see, if possible) more stories from Murray’s off camera life. But when he isn’t cracking up fans in the strangest of situations, the actor is also known for his love of golf. The golf apparel company that he owns with his brother, William Murray, has found a legitimate degree of success over the years, and at least some of this success is due to Murray’s own experience with the sport.
