With America's Got Talent: Extreme now airing on NBC after kicking off February 21, Nikki Bella reveals her experience joining the judging panel alongside Simon Cowell, Travis Pastrana, and host Terry Crews. A spin-off of the long-running show America's Got Talent, AGT: Extreme features contestants performing dangerous and outrageous stunts in an attempt to win $500,000. With the original program covering a whopping 16 seasons, a number of talented performers have gone on to have established careers after their appearances on AGT. Dance crew Jabbawockeez, who won America's Best Dance Crew in 2008, briefly appeared on AGT season 2; other successful stars who got their start on the NBC show include Grace VanderWaal, Melissa Villaseñor, and Lindsey Stirling.
NBC first announced AGT: Extreme back in May 2021 with the judging panel that October, although an unexpected series of events led to production being delayed. That fall, contestant Jonathan Goodwin was seriously injured while rehearsing a stunt. Goodwin, who appeared on AGT season 15, was caught in between two cars while suspended in a straitjacket; while he has recovered after spending four months in the hospital, NBC hasn't announced if they will ultimately show footage of Goodwin. Created during a surge of COVID-19, AGT: Extreme was forced to move filming locations from Atlanta back to California; another challenge was finding a venue that was large enough to host all the over-the-top acts.
