Sony has teased plans to reveal a “breakthrough project in AI” later this week.
The company’s AI division said the project has been created in collaboration with Sony Interactive Entertainment and Gran Turismo studio Polyphony Digital.
It also released the following teaser video ahead of the project’s official announcement on Wednesday.
Gran Turismo 7 was originally planned for release last year but was delayed after production was impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.
The racing game will now be released for PS5 and PS4 on March 4, 2022.
Polyphony Digital CEO Kazunori Yamauchi claimed last September: “GT7 is both the culmination of the series which answers the expectations of GT fans throughout the years, and at the same time it is a title that marks a beginning of a difficult mission to contain the full breadth of car culture from the past into a single video game.”
Sony broadcast a State of Play presentation focused exclusively on Gran Turismo 7 last Wednesday. It featured over 30 minutes of new PS5 footage and gameplay details.
The publisher has also detailed Gran Turismo 7 pre-order items and the game’s 25th Anniversary Edition, which costs $90 / £90 and includes a Toyota GR Yaris with a country specific livery.
Gran Turismo 7’s campaign mode, livery editor, Scapes photo mode, GT Café and GT Auto will all require players to be connected to the PlayStation Network.
