Nintendo is reportedly gearing up to launch a handful of new Switch hardware bundles in Europe.
According to ever-reliable dataminer billbil-kun, Nintendo is planning to announce five new Switch bundles, at least three of which will launch in September.
Writing on Dealabs, they claimed the bundles will include two Switch Lite packs (each priced at €219) and a regular Switch console bundled with Nintendo Switch Sports and a 12-month Nintendo Switch Online subscription (€299).
These are expected to be announced on September 12 or 13, and to launch on September 19. The contents of the Switch Lite bundles are currently unknown.
Nintendo is also said to be planning to announce two Switch OLED bundles (each priced at €349), one of which will come with a download code for Super Mario Bros. Wonder and a three-month Switch Online subscription. The contents of the other OLED bundle are currently unknown.
It’s also unclear if the Switch OLED bundles will be announced and/or launch at the same time as the other three bundles.
It was recently claimed that Nintendo’s next console will have backwards compatibility support.
While Nintendo has refrained from making any specific comments about future hardware when asked about features like backwards compatibility, the company plans to announce its next console during its current fiscal year, which runs until March 31, 2025.
Last month it was claimed that developers had been briefed not to expect Nintendo’s next console to launch before April 2025.
However, last week, David Gibson, a senior research analyst at MST Financial, suggested financial guidance from Nintendo assembler Hosiden might point to plans to launch the system sooner.
