Despite being heavily associated with Fortnite for years, Twitch’s Ninja suggests his relationship with Epic Games is at an all-time low.
Richard Tyler Blevins, better known as Twitch streamer Ninja, owes a lot of his career and fame to Fortnite. It was thanks to his streams of the game that he rose to popularity and, even after temporarily leaving the platform, he boasts the most-followed Twitch channel ever, with 17.5 million followers.
Epic Games, in return, has had Ninja help promote the game, even giving him his own Fortnite skin. However, Ninja seems to believe that Epic Games doesn’t want anything to do with him anymore.
During a recent Twitch stream, Ninja said: ‘I kind of feel like Epic hates me right now, truly.’
This came out in response to fans asking when his skin was going to be available in Fortnite’s in-game store again. It was last available in late July and was apparently meant to return on April 11. However, Ninja says that Epic Games has kept pushing its re-release back and it may not even come out until May, something that has only contributed to Ninja’s belief that his relationship with Epic Games has soured.
He adds that he was never approached to promote any recent Fortnite events, such as the one hosted earlier this month by fellow streamer Ludwig.
That said, he doesn’t provide any reasons for why Epic Games would no longer wish to associate with him and even posits that the company simply wants to collaborate with other content creators.
