A gameplay breakdown for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 has revealed that it's getting rid of the infamous rock-paper-scissors gameplay mechanic and instead adding a super meter.
EVO 2023 is currently live and one of the biggest things at the event was a breakdown of the new gameplay mechanics in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, as well as the reveal that Plankton is joining the roster in a big mech suit. Although Plankton being added to the game is exciting enough considering how highly requested he was by fans, the real excitement came from the gameplay breakdown, which gave us a look at everything that's changed since the last game.

Perhaps the most important change that Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 makes to the formula is the removal of the rock-papers-scissors gameplay mechanic from the first game. For those who don't know, this essentially meant that every move in the game could be countered with another move depending on if it was a strong attack or a light attack. Correctly countering the move would cause the other player to flip and leave them open to attack.
Although it was a unique mechanic that made Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl stand out from other platform fighters, it wasn't a very popular one and was something that many players didn't really get on with. Well, it seems that Ludosity and Fair Play Labs were aware of this, as it's now been completely removed from the game. Now, attacks will just attacks and there won't be a specific way to counter enemies based on what move they use.
