Update: In a change made to the Last Chance to Play section on PS5, Teardown has been removed from the list, suggesting it was mistakenly listed as leaving the service. As such, 34 games are now marked for removal on 21st May 2024.
Original story: Sony is having a significant clearout of PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium games on 21st May 2024, and the long list of titles leaving the two tiers has just been extended by another 10 games. What first stood at 25 games was extended by one by the addition of Horizon Zero Dawn just under two weeks ago. Now, though, the total stands at 35 games after an update to the Last Chance to Play section on PS5.

All the additional titles now carry the warning: «Offer ends 21/5/2024 [at] 10:00.» This now brings the total number of games leaving PS Plus to 35, on the same day the lineup of titles in the May 2024 refresh will drop. Why Horizon Zero Dawn? Isn't it Sony's title? Sony really works in mysterious ways. Why not keep old prestigious titles with diminishing sales on the service to increase its appeal and keep it competitive?
Here is a great example as to why subscription services are false economy. Because whilst it looks great on paper, right here are 35 games leaving the service and I'm not going to miss any of them.
