A new mod for Skyrim replaces the game's moon with the Helios Station from the Borderlands series. The Helios Station is the starting point of the player's adventure in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. It is a large H-shaped Hyperion space station armed with a laser cannon powerful enough to destroy the moon orbiting the planet of Pandora known as Elpis. Its addition to Skyrim's night sky could be a surprising mix for fans of both games.
Normally Skyrim has two moons, a larger one called Masser and a smaller one called Secunda. The phases of Skyrim's two moons are important to the culture of the Khajiit, as the sub-species of Khajiit kittens are determined by the phases of the moons on the day they are born. In contrast, Elpis is the only moon that orbits the planet Pandora in Borderlands, and it has one of the legendary Vaults hidden somewhere beneath the surface in an underground complex. However, Borderlands Vaults contain power so devastating that the purpose of the Helios Station's laser cannon is to destroy Elpis in case the Vault is at risk of falling into the wrong hands.
