One of the nine new original titles announced to be coming from IDW Publishing, alongside the likes of Scott Snyder's Dark Spaces, TRVE KVLT is a horror-comedy mini-series. Pronounced «True Cult,» the comic book brings together satanic cults and burger joints.
The TRVE KVLT concept has already proven popular with horror and comedy junkies alike when the title was successfully funded on the Kickstarter crowdfunding platform, reaching over $20,000 in support. The Kickstarter page boasts promising quotes from all-star creators, including Cliff Chiang (Paper Girls) and Vita Ayala (New Mutants). Back then, it was planned to be a four-issue mini-series, but the IDW news promises a five-issue limited series run that will begin in August 2022.

The exclusive coverage from GamesRadar+ took a first look at the upcoming TRVE KVLT limited series, written by Scott Bryan Wilson (Batman: Gotham Nights) with art by Liana Kangas (Star Wars Adventures), colors by Gab Contreras (Witchblood), and letters by DC Hopkins (Star Wars). The comic focuses on two employees at the fast-food establishment Burger Lord. There's Marty, a metalhead who has worked at Burger Lord for 15 years, and his new coworker, Alison, who the aforementioned Marty drags into a satanic death cult thanks to his money-hungry nature. Three covers were revealed for the first issue: the main cover featuring the two stars in their natural habitat by Kangas, a variant cover featuring a burger with blood (or ketchup) by Maria Llovet (Faithless), and a final variant with Marty regretting his life choices in the parking lot by Fabian Lelay (We Are The Danger) with colors by Lizard.
