Warning! Spoilers for The Boys comic book and television series!
Billy Butcher once made his last name quite literal when he tortured and killed Soldier Boy during one of his darkest moments in The Boys comic book series. When the most dangerous member of the hero-hunting team tracked down Soldier Boy and sought answers from him, he brought a butcher's knife to cut him up, brutally killing the Supe, as Butcher horrifyingly lived up to his name.
In The Boys' comic book series, no member of the team has a more personal vendetta against Supes than Billy Butcher. After watching his beloved wife die after giving birth to a superpowered baby after being assaulted by Homelander (later revealed to be Black Noir), Butcher made it his mission to get justice for his tragic loss. Butcher would join The Boys and become its most ruthless killer, as he consistently murdered Supes in horrific fashions. But, his murder of Soldier Boy truly emphasized his anger and made Butcher's last name literal.

After previously killing the Avengers' satire team members, including the Crimson Countess (Scarlet Witch), Swatto (Ant-Man), and Mind-Droid (Vision), Billy Butcher turns his attention to Stormfront and Soldier Boy. After taking down the Nazi Supe, Butcher tells The Boys he has something he needs to take care of. That's when it's revealed he has Soldier Boy tied up to a chair, with his nose bitten off, as he gets out a butcher's knife and tortures him for information about Homelander.
