New PlayStation 5 Pro specs have leaked, but fans don't seem to be impressed. It's become fairly standard for consoles to receive a mid-generation refresh, with the last generation seeing the PlayStation 4 Pro, and the Xbox One X with various improvements to provide better fidelity and performance.
According to, the PlayStation 5 Pro will feature the following specs, which are compared with the standard PlayStation 5 below:
There had also been previous reports of a GPU that contained the following, which also listed:
As with the previous PlayStation 5 mid-generation refresh, also states that the PlayStation 5 Pro will have a detachable disc drive and a 1TB SSD.
While the previously leaked GPU specs almost sound too good to be true, especially for a mid-console launch, fans seem unimpressed with one key aspect of Insider Gaming's report. X users PMS Jordan and Dream Walker both pointed out the CPU specs, with the former pointing out that it being identical to the standard PlayStation 5 is "" while the latter questioned how it will run some upcoming games such as at 60FPS.
Players have already expressed their complaints when it comes to the current generation of consoles, as several AAA titles still seem to make players choose between fidelity or performance. With many modern PC setups, players can experience both higher resolutions along with more detailed visuals and lighting at the same time as higher frame rates, so it's understandable that they would expect such features to be included in a Pro version of the current gen consoles.
Of course, there has been no official word on whether these specs are true or not. It seems extremely likely that some kind of PlayStation 5 Pro model is on the way, but until Sony officially announces it, these specs are just speculation.
