Following months of rumors and unofficial looks, Sony has finally lifted the lid on the new PlayStation 5 hardware revision with a new trailer and blog post.
The trailer, which can be watched below, is rather short and shows the new console revision with a frontal look that highlights how the bump of the standard edition disc drive is more pronounced than in the currently available model.
The Official PlayStation Blog also revealed some additional information on the new PlayStation 5 hardware revision, which has been reduced in volume by more than 30%, and weight by 18% and 24% compared to the previous models. The new console will also launch with an attachable disc drive, as rumored in the past few months. The attachable drive will be available for purchase for 79.99 USD | 119.99 EURO | 99.99 GBP | 11,980 JPY. Both the Standard and Digital Edition of the new console will feature a 1 TB SSD for more internal storage and two front USB Type-C ports.
The new PlayStation 5 model will start rolling out during the month of November at participating retailers. You can find a spec sheet and pricing information for multiple regions below.
