A new card series is hitting the NBA 2K22 market, and it's one that fans of the franchise are excited about. The new set, debuting at almost the same time the Signature Series pack set came out, includes players of multiple generations, with two set positions for players to choose from.
The series, dubbed «Out Of Position,» features 12 units capable of playing two positions, one natural placing and another they are not familiar with. The new pack is available in the NBA 2K22 marketplace as part of the MyTeam Pack set.

The series was announced on Twitter with the first three units revealed; DeMar DeRozan as a point guard/power forward, Giannis Antetokounmpo as a shooting guard/small forward, and Michael Jordan as a point guard/shooting guard. Both Jordan and Antetokounmpo are Dark Matter cards, while DeRozan is a Galaxy Opal unit. The idea received praise during its inaugural year, as it allows players to use certain stars in different roles. Players known for scoring points can suddenly become a 99-overall guard, giving gamers a major boost to their lineup.
The series contains 12 cards in total, with two units representing each overall category. Anthony Davis joins DeRozan as the two Galaxy Opal players, Ben Wallace and Jimmy Butler as Pink Diamonds, Evan Mobley and Penny Hardaway as Diamonds, Ben Simmons and Toni Kukoc as Amethysts, and finally Earl Boykins and Arvydas Sabonis. All players are obtainable by the MyTeam pack, however, players with an abundance of in-game currency are better served hitting the Auctions part of the game and buying the units they wish to add separately.
