Tom Hiddleston Will Star In A New Apple TV+ Series
Tom Hiddleston has become synonymous with the Marvel Cinematic Universe for his portrayal of Loki, but he has been part of several other memorable projects. Among them are Crimson Peak,I Saw the Light, and Kong: Skull Island.Hiddleston will now add another role to his long list in the upcoming Apple TV Plus series, The White Darkness.
The White Darkness will mark Hiddleston's second project with Apple TV Plus. Hiddleston stars in The Essex Serpent, which is slated to release in May. The Essex Serpent is an adaptation of Sarah Perry's 2016 Victorian novel of the same name. In addition to Hiddleston, the series will also star Claire Danes, Frank Dillane, and Hayley Squires.
Apple TV+'s Severance Will Return For A Second Season
For his latest Apple TV Plus project, Hiddleston has been cast in The White Darkness. The limited series is a TV adaptation of David Grann's 2018 non-fiction novel that centers around the life and adventures of Henry Worsley. Hiddleston will play Worsley, a former explorer and British Army Officer with dreams of following in the footsteps of his idol, Antarctic explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton. Worsley embarked on his final Antarctica expedition in 2015, where he aimed to complete a 1,100-mile solo journey across the Antarctic in 80 days.
The White Darkness will be developed by Soo Hugh, creator of Pachinko. Hugh will be assisted in running the show by Mark Heyman, who co-wrote the scripts for Black Swanand The Skeleton Twins.Heyman has also penned the script for the upcoming Stephen King adaptation of The Boogeyman. Apple Studios will produce the series with UCP. In addition to acting as the lead in the series, Hiddleston will also serve as an executive producer on The White Darkness.
