New Microsoft Teams features have been rolled out to users to make their experience even more seamless and engaging. From muting and unmuting directly from the taskbar, to limiting disruptions, the platform has introduced a bunch of amazing features. Windows users can now mute/unmute their microphone for Teams meetings even without opening the Teams window. The mute/unmute icon will now appear on the taskbar and will be handy for workers on regular Teams meetings who use Windows PCs. This new feature was added recently in the recent Windows 11 Build 22000.526 (KB5010414) for Windows Insiders in the Beta and Release Preview Channels.
Microsoft Teams offers Breakout rooms for organizers to divide meetings into sub-groups for brainstorming or close-quartered discussions. However, with the new support, the breakout rooms can be expanded for up to 10 presenters during a meeting. Only, one manager can take control at a time and perform several in-meeting functions such as:
Assigning users to rooms
Adding/deleting rooms
Opening/closing rooms
Reassigning users to rooms
Sending announcements
Re-creating rooms
Setting timers
Adjusting other breakout room settings
Joining open rooms
Sending announcements etc
Organizers can even reassign participants even when rooms are open.
Now the Microsoft Teams meetings will be more energy efficient regardless of setup. The platform has reduced the power consumption upto 50% in order make it easily operational for users on low-end hardware as well as those on high-end workstations and high-resolution monitors.
