Sony’s PlayStation App has allowed PlayStation users a variety of features to enhance and optimize their experience on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 from their mobile devices. Ever since the PS App was announced at Tokyo Game Show 2013, and subsequently released in November of that year, players have been given several ways to connect and interact with the larger PlayStation community beyond their consoles.
The PS App has a variety of features, namely allowing PlayStation users access to their PlayStation Network accounts on the go. Players can customize their profiles, be able to see the activity of both friends and following players, and have access to the PlayStation Store to purchase games and keep remote track of downloads onto their respective systems. The PS App also updates frequently with various bug fixes and quality of life updates to make using the app more accessible and easier to use for players as well.

The only captures that are implemented at the moments are non-4K gameplay videos that run 3 minutes or less, and any screenshots that are taken from players using the Create button on the PS5 Dualsense controller or any of the Create button shortcuts.
