Sony Pictures Entertainment has dropped the second trailer for Bullet Train (the first one came out in March). The over-the-top action movie taking place almost entirely in very tight quarters arrives on August 5.
Brad Pitt stars as a reluctant assassin taking on one more job--delivering a suitcase--and generally doing an impressive job of pulling off a bucket hat. Sandra Bullock, who plays Pitt's handler for the job, keeps telling him to «get off at the next station» when many civilians on the train turn out to be rival assassins. But as Pitt quickly learns, that's far easier said than done. Check out the trailer below, which showcases John Wick director David Leitch's ability to take another actor not particularly known for roles in action films and make them into an unkillable hero.
Based on the book Bullet Train: A Novel by Kotaro Isaka--which follows five assassins on a high-speed train--the film seems to follow the story of the novel, but focuses primarily on Pitt's character, an assassin who doesn't want to kill anymore. A few of the other assassins we see in this trailer are Brian Tyree Henry (Atlanta, Eternals), Hiroyuki Sanada (Mortal Kombat, The Wolverine), Zazie Beetz (Atlanta, Deadpool 2), and Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass, Avengers: Age of Ultron).
The film's cast also includes Bullock, Joey King, Andrew Koji, Michael Shannon, and more. Zak Olkewicz (Fear Street: Part Two — 1978) wrote the screenplay.
Bullet Train was previously set to release on July 29 but was recently pushed back to its current release date of August 5.
