Netflix orders a new dark comedy series from Liz Feldman, the creator ofDead to Me. The series follows the friendship between Jen (Christina Applegate) and Judy (Linda Cardellini) after the two form a bond during grief therapy. Produced by Felman, Will Ferrell, and Adam McKay, Dead to Me debuted on Netflix in 2019 and quickly earned acclaim for its stellar performances and riveting plot twists. In 2020, Netflix announced that Dead to Me was renewed for a third and final season. Now, it appears Feldman has a new dark comedy on the horizon.
Netflix announces the new dark comedy series from Feldman, No Good Deed. Produced by Ferrell, Jessica Elbaum, and Brittney Segal, No Good Dead centers on three different families attempting to purchase the same home, a 1920s Spanish-style villa. Per the official logline of No Good Deed, “the sellers have already discovered, sometimes the home of your dream can be a total nightmare.” Feldman reveals the storyline for No Good Dead came to mind during the early days of the pandemic when she was searching through countless Zillow listings in an attempt to mentally escape from her home. At this time, Netflix has yet to announce a release date for No Good Deed.

For now, Dead to Me fans can expect the final season to arrive later this year. One of the main reasons Dead to Me is a success is due to the potent chemistry between Applegate and Cardellini. No Good Deed doesn't yet have a cast attached, but Feldman could likely use the performers from Dead to Me in the new series. Steeming from the creative minds of Dead to Me, No Good Deed could be another winner for Netflix.
