Netflix has just announced an anime adaptation of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, and the entire cast from the original live-action are set to reprise their roles.
As reported by Deadline, Scott Pilgrim is returning as an anime series, with all of the 2010 cast returning as their respective characters, including Michael Cera in the role of the titular character, as well as Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Ramona Flowers. Original director Edgar Wright also shared the news on Twitter, writing, «After much musing over the years about there being potential for an anime adaptation of ‘Scott Pilgrim’, I’m thrilled to say one is IMMINENT, with the whole cast back together and… you are going to lose your minds.»
Original creator of the comic Bryan Lee O'Malley is also attached to the project as an executive producer, writer, and showrunner, alongside BenDavid Grabinski (Are You Afraid of the Dark?), and Wright is also serving as an executive producer. The show is being animated by Science Saru, best known for another Netflix anime Devilman Crybaby, as well as the Akakiri and T0-B1 animated shorts from Star Wars: Visions.
