Ziva David (Cote de Pablo) and Tony DiNozzo (Micheal Weatherly) have reunited in season 17 of NCIS after being separated for over five seasons. The two, named «Tiva» by the fans, were an ongoing will-they-won't-they couple ever since Ziva's debut in season 3 of the show. Unfortunately, Tony and Ziva's relationship looks like it will only be offscreen from now on. However, NCIS season 17 hinted at the two's future together; something fans have been waiting a long time for the pair to finally become official, as their relationship has been one of the most loved romances in NCIS.
Ziva David is an Israeli operative who was assigned to the team as a liaison officer after the death of Caitlin Todd at the end of NCIS season 2. Tony and Ziva's relationship, however, didn't truly start until the eighth episode of the season when they went undercover as a couple. This sparked their romantic relationship, though it barely amounted to anything but playful banter and teasing.

As Tony and Ziva's relationship progressed, work became a large point of conflict between the two. Their work or personal responsibilities forced them to separate, such as when NCIS disbanded in season 5 or when Ziva left indefinitely in NCIS season 11. Several times, the different relationships they pursued in NCIS seasons 8 and 9 continued to prolong the question of if Tony and Ziva would ever get together. However, the biggest factor that separated them was when Ziva faked her death and hid at the end of season 13.
