Olivia Wilde was reportedly served custody papers on stage while presenting her upcoming film Don't Worry Darling at CinemaCon. The CinemaCon event has been ongoing in LA over the last few days, offering numerous new details on the biggest movies coming down the pipeline from major studios like Warner Bros., Disney, Sony, Universal and Paramount. While much of the news has focussed on highly-anticipated blockbusters such as Avatar 2, Jurassic World Dominion, upcoming MCU and DCEU projects, and many more, Wilde's latest Don't Worry Darling trailer also debuted at the event.
Wilde took to the stage during Warner Bros. CinemaCon presentation, where she talked about Don't Worry Darling, a film she directs and co-stars in alongside Florence Pugh, Harry Styles, and Chris Pine. While she was speaking, an unidentified person approached the stage and slid a manila envelope to Wilde that read «personal and confidential.» The director reportedly asked «This is for me?» before opening the envelope and inspecting the contents. Wilde then continued her presentation for Don't Worry Darling un-phased, leaving attendees to wonder what it could have been.

As reported by Deadline, the initial speculation around the envelope's contents said it was an unsolicited script. However, that seems not to be the case as new reports point to the envelope containing custody papers from Wilde's ex-fiancé Jason Sudeikis. Wilde and Sudeikis have two children, and were engaged before their relationship ended in 2020. According to Variety, Sudeikis «had no prior knowledge» of the fact that the custody papers were to be delivered to Wilde during her CinemaCon appearance. A
