The Wilds creator Sarah Streicher and executive producer Amy B. Harris talk about the show's similarities to the Showtime hit series Yellowjackets. The Wilds is about to premiere its eight-episode second season on Prime Video on May 6. The series features Sophia Ali, Reign Edwards, Shannon Berry, Jenna Clause, Helena Howard, and Rachel Griffiths.
The Wilds follows a group of teenage girls who are trapped on a deserted island after a plane crash. As well as sharing the same basic premise as Yellowjackets, both shows feature an ensemble cast, fragmented timelines, and a character-focused structure. However, unlike Yellowjackets, The Wilds has a more of a science-fiction bend, with the characters being the unwitting focus of a social experiment on the island, and the second season of The Wildswill introduce a group of teen boys that end up on the island as part of the same experiment.
