Justin Bartha, who played Riley Poole in the two National Treasure movies, is set to return in the franchise's upcoming Disney+ TV show. The first two films starred Nicolas Cage, Diane Krueger, and Bartha. The original National Treasure saw the crew racing to find a Templar treasure, while the second involved Cage's Benjamin Gates trying to prove his ancestor wasn't connected to Abraham Lincoln's assassination. The movies have become more popular the older they get, yet National Treasure 3 never moved forward.
Even though the odds of getting a third film don't look good, Disney announced back in May 2020 that the National Treasure franchise will be expanding with a TV series on Disney+. The show will star newcomer Lisette Alexis as Jess Morales, a Latina adventurer who is searching for her family's connection to a lost Pan-American treasure. The actress will be joined by Lyndon Smith as an FBI agent, Zuri Reed, one of Jess' best friends, Jordan Rodrigues as Ethan, Antonio Cipriano as a theorist named Oren, and Jake Austin Walker as a musician named Liam. Catherine Zeta-Jones has been the biggest star attached to the project until now.

Disney has revealed that Bartha will be reprising his National Treasure role as Riley Poole. The actor has been cast as a guest star, which means he may not have a very big role in the TV show. As of now, no other details surrounding Bartha's return are known.
