The AX50 is one of the oldest weapons in Call of Duty: Warzone, but recent changes to Sniper Rifles with Season 3 nerfs have changed the meta significantly. Ever since Warzone launched in March of 2020, many players have tried using the AX50 with varying success due to other Sniper Rifles being better options. Thanks to the changes to Sniper Rifles in Season 3, the AX50 is seeing improved usage again thanks to its ability to down any enemy with a single shot to the head, from any range.
The surge in AX50 usage is brought on by the nerfs made to the ever-popular Kar98k loadout in Warzone, as well as the Swiss K31. While both of these commonly used rifles still have the ability to down any enemy with a single shot to the head, the shot has to be performed within a certain range. Before the update, both rifles could down enemies at any range, and their ADS speed made both the Kar98k and Swiss K31 incredibly easy to be accurate with.
