The Uchiha Clan is among the most powerful clans in the entire Naruto series. The clan has been responsible for producing some of the strongest ninjas in history. The clan was feared throughout the world, especially during the time of the Warring States when all the clans were fighting each other. It was at this time that Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha joined hands to bring an end to the continuous fighting. This resulted in the creation of the Hidden Leaf, and it was actually Madara Uchiha who coined the name. However, Madara soon grew unhappy due to the villagers giving him the cold shoulder. Eventually, he decided to leave the village and when he asked his own clan members to help him, they refused.
After Madara left the village, he was eventually defeated by Hashirama Senju. During Hashirama's reign, the Uchiha enjoyed many privileges, but as soon as Hashirama died, Tobirama started to ostracize the Uchiha clan. Unlike his brother, Tobirama believed that the Uchiha were a threat, and it would be better to keep them on the outskirts of the village. This decision worked for some time, but in the long run, it caused problems for the entire village. Tobirama's racist ideas eventually led to the massacre of the entire Uchiha clan, but was every Uchiha evil? The answer is no. Tobirama was too uptight to give the clan a chance, and they were treated unfairly. Over the course of the series, it became apparent that some of the most loyal ninjas of the Hidden Leaf belonged to the Uchiha clan, and one such person was Shisui Uchiha.
