Redditor u/stephenie_t has made quite the discovery on July 31st while playing Skyrim, posting a picture as proof of Uthgerd the Unbroken holding a greatsword in one hand, a shield in her other, rather than using the sword as the intended two-handed monstrosity it can be for the player. With Uthgerd already being a capable, proud Nord the photo has ignited a delightful mixture of strong Nordic woman quotes and reasons why this might have happened within the comments.

For fans who may not find the Dovahkiin falling into step with Uthgerd during their travels through Skyrim, she can be found in Whiterun drinking to keep her dark past at bay in The Bannered Mare. Given the photo of her casually swinging a greatsword around as if it were a simple one-handed implement, it shouldn’t be shocking that the Dovahkiin will be challenged to a brawl when they first meet. Should the player emerge victorious, Uthgerd will then become available as a follower, and potentially a marriage candidate if the player so chooses. Uthgerd will be a source of Nordic wisdom, she will offer callouts in dangerous situations, and she could be considered lawful since she won’t do things such as steal or murder other NPCs.
