Cobra Kai is coming back and we have the first look of Daniel (Ralph Macchio) and company ready to kick, punch, and chop their way back to a victory. Yuji Okumoto, who played Daniel's rival Chozen in Karate Kid Part II, joins the cast this season.
Following the conclusion of the All Valley Tournament in the last season of the show, Season 5 of the karate family drama finds the villainous Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) looking to expand his Cobra Kai empire and trying to make his style of karate the only game in town. With John Kreese (Martin Kove) in jail and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) setting karate aside to focus on righting the wrongs he’s caused over the past four seasons.
«As Terry Silver calls upon some old friends to put the Valley in a stranglehold, Daniel and Johnny are going to need all the help they can get to stop Cobra Kai in its tracks,» executive producers Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg said in a press release.
Netflix dropped new photos of the upcoming season, giving fans an idea of what they have in store. Joining Macchio, Zabka, Kove, and Griffith and will be the returning Courtney Henggeler, Xolo Maridueña, Tanner Buchanan, Mary Mouser, Jacob Bertrand, Gianni Decenzo, Vanessa Rubio, Peyton List, and Dallas Dupree Young with Oona O'Brien, Griffin Santopietro, and Yuji Okumoto.
Cobra Kai Season 5 premieres on September 9, exclusively on Netflix.
