Baldur's Gate 3 being in Early Access means that much of the information provided below may end up out-of-date. For your reference, the information presented was true as of the publication date and works from Patch 8 of the game.
As mentioned, Baldur's Gate 3 is currently in Early Access. This is something that Larian has done with previous games to get feedback about the presentation and mechanics of its games. There is a significant amount of content in the Early Access, but it does not include the full game.
We currently do not have a date for the full release of the game, though we can expect it to be in 2023.
If you purchase Baldur's Gate 3 right now, you'll get access to around 25 hours' worth of content that encompasses Act One of the game. Of course, this figure may be higher or lower - especially if you decide to do multiple playthroughs. More areas have been added to Act One in the past, so we're not sure if this is the entire scope of this part of the game.
