Two of the most interesting sets Magic: The Gathering has released in the last few years have been Commander Legends and Dungeons & Dragons: Adventures in the Forgotten Realms. One was the first-ever draftable Commander set and included powerhouse cards like Sol Ring, Vampiric Tutor, Jewelled Lotus, and Hullbreacher. The other was the first time D&D has crossed over into Magic, and gave us mechanics like venturing into the dungeon, dice rolling, and pack tactics.

Magic's latest set combines the two into the verbosely named Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur's Gate. A preview season is part of the promotion of an upcoming Magic: The Gathering set, when the entire card list is revealed. By the end of the season, we know the set's mechanics, any major story details (which we're expecting to be light for Baldur's Gate), and every single card coming in it.
Preview seasons begin with a debut stream, where Wizards of the Coast breaks down the key elements of the set. Any new or returning mechanics are showcased, we see more of the alternate treatments, and many cards are shown off.
After that, the community takes over the proceedings. For the week and a bit after that, both official Magic channels and content creators will reveal cards from across the set (known as "spoilers").
