Ukrainian developers from GSC Game World appeared during the Extended Xbox Show last night, offering a sneak peek at Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl. In what seems to be the sequel's intro cutscene, the team paid homage to the original Shadow of Chernobyl intro that many fans still remember.
There's nothing like a bit of nostalgia to get fans excited for the follow-up, arriving more than fifteen years after 2007's original. GSC Game World perfectly understands that, which is highlighted by a recent Stalker 2 in-engine trailer. Called ‘Enter the Zone’, the video once again shows us a rough truck driving to the anomaly-filled Chornobyl Exclusion Zone. A mysterious man in the back; the flashes of lightning from a huge radiation storm — all seem pretty familiar. From the looks of it, though, the Zone is now even more dangerous than ever, as its evolution continues throughout all these years.

Alongside the updated look at the Zone, the new footage officially confirms that Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl has slipped into 2023. To continue the development, the team had to relocate to the Czech Republic from Kyiv after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. But not everyone was able to leave the country.
GSC Game World employees shared special footage of how the war impacted their lives. Heavy destruction can be seen just 0.6 miles from the studio's main building in Kyiv. Many developers are still scattered across Ukraine, working from home and running to nearby shelters in case of sudden alerts.
Some team members have also become volunteers to help other people who suffer from war, whereas several others have even joined the ranks of the Armed Forces. As the studio
