Ms. Marvel star Iman Vellani reacts to rumors regarding the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s potential formation of the Young Avengers. Following Avengers: Endgame's epic conclusion to 11 years and 21 films worth of storytelling, Marvel Studios has been reshaping the MCU in Phase 4. While some of the original Avengers remain, many younger characters are being set up as the franchise’s future.
The latest Marvel/Disney+ live-action series introduced audiences to Vellani’s Kamala Khan — a 16-year-old Pakistani American girl who goes from being an Avengers/Captain Marvel obsessive to getting superpowers of her own after inheriting a magical bangle. In addition to referencing the X-Men, Ms. Marvel's credits scenes set up Vellani’s role in The Marvels, which will see her character fight alongside Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) and Carol Danvers (Brie Larson). The young new hero's appearance in theCaptain Marvel sequel has signaled to many that Kamala may one day inherit the mantle of Captain Marvel. At this point, it seems the MCU is laying the foundation for many characters, including Kamala, who go on to form the Young Avengers in the comics.

In a recent interview with StyleCaster, Vellani was asked about the possibility of her character, Ms. Marvel, joining the Young Avengers. Without saying too much, the actress merely expressed an interest in those rumors. However, the actor coyly implied that Marvel boss Kevin Feige would have to be convinced first.
