Motorola's next flagship phone may pack some serious charging power that will give it an advantage over the competition. With slow advancements in battery technology, phone manufacturers have developed super-fast charging methods to meet the power consumption of modern smartphones. By adding support for faster charging, users can quickly recharge their phone's battery in a matter of minutes.
At MWC 2022, Oppo demoed a 240W fast charging technology that can refill a battery from empty to full in just nine minutes, setting a new record for mobile phone charging. While that technology won't appear in a smartphone anytime soon, Oppo also announced its 150W SuperVOOC fast charging technology that can fully charge a 4,500 mAh battery in fifteen minutes. The 150W fast charging technology will feature on a OnePlus phone in 2022.

Motorola is not new to the super-fast charging race. The Motorola Edge 30 Pro, its first flagship of 2022, supports 68W fast charging, which Motorola claims can charge the 4,800 mAh battery from 0 to 100% in 35 minutes. However, the brand is about to outdo itself with even faster technology that crosses the 100W mark. The General Manager of Lenovo Mobile China, Jin Chen, shared a photo of a 125W power adapter on the Chinese social media platform, Weibo. The charger is believed to be for a Motorola smartphone considering the branding in the backdrop of the photo.
