Minisforum has unveiled the world's first AMD Ryzen 8000 "Hawk Point" APU-powered tablet design which will be launching early next year.
Last month, Minisforum held an event where it teased its next-gen and first AMD Ryzen-powered AI tablet. This new design was going to be a full-blown Windows 11 tablet with a focus on its AI power enabled through the use of Ryzen AI hardware. Now the company has confirmed that not only are Ryzen tablets on the way but they will be packing the next-gen Ryzen 8000 "Hawk Point" APUs in 22 and 28W designs.
The AMD Hawk Point APUs will be part of the Ryzen 8000 family and be a slight refresh of the current Ryzen 7040 Phoenix APUs. These new APUs will feature Zen 4 cores and RDNA 3.5 GPU cores while keeping the same core configurations intact. Besides the RDNA 3.5 GPU, another aspect that will be upgraded on the new APUs is the XDNA engine which will allow for better AI capabilities & help keep AMD competitive with Intel's NPU/VPU on its upcoming Meteor Lake CPUs.
