Electronic music artists Chase & Status will headline a “secret” London gig to celebrate the launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 next month.
Activision Blizzard and Universal Music have teamed up to put on the event, dubbed LDN Calling, which will be held on the evening of November 9, ahead of the game’s release the following day.
Supporting Chase & Status will be DJ and drum and bass producer Bou.
Fans can enter a competition for a chance to win tickets to the gig by solving three Call of Duty “missions” by October 31.
25 winners will be selected, with each receiving a plus one for the event.
Activision previously announced that it had teamed up with PlayStation to recreate popular Call of Duty map Terminal for Modern Warfare 3’s London launch event.
“As guests arrive, they will be transported through PlayStation Airlines check-in, straight through to security and will then be greeted by a buzzing Terminal experience – with early gameplay, one day ahead of launch on PlayStation 5 – a live music performance from special guests, plus much more,” it said.
Set for release on November 10, 2023, Modern Warfare 3 is a direct sequel to last year’s Modern Warfare 2. Development is being led by Sledgehammer, in collaboration with Infinity Ward, while Treyarch is in charge of its Zombies mode.
In an interview published last month, Activision president Rob Kostich said the company has Call of Duty games planned out through 2027, and that 3,000 developers are currently working on the franchise.
