Metro Awakening VR was showcased during Sony's State of Play on September 24. It is a highly anticipated VR game set within the Metro universe. During the trailer, fans got a closer look at what to expect from the gameplay and storyline in Metro Awakening, where players explore the story of one of Metro's most pivotal characters.
Much like the other games in the franchise, this title is also penned by Dmitry Glukhovsky, and this game serves as a standalone prequel to Metro 2033, where the game follows the story of Serdar, a doctor who is exploring the harrowing tunnels in search of his missing wife. On his journey, his sanity is pushed to breaking point, and he often finds himself seeing and hearing things that aren't there before awakening as Khan, a legendary mystic figure. Khan's wisdom and understanding of the tunnels' supernatural forces will then continue to echo throughout the years, with Khan becoming a spiritual guide and shaping the fate of those who explore the Metro tunnels.
Metro Awakening is currently available for pre-order, with the game being compatible on the PS VR2, Meta Quest and Steam VR. There are two versions that players can pre-order: The Standard Edition, which includes some Field Medic cosmetics and a 10% discount for the Deluxe Edition.
