Konami has released patch 1.4.0 for the PC version of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, which won't arrive on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X and S, and Nintendo Switch until January 2024.
Revealed on Konami's website, the patch notes are fairly extensive, adding the likes of new settings and addressing a number of bugs.
The biggest change to the original Metal Gear Solid — which is available in the collection alongside the classic Metal Gear 1 and 2, plus Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 — is the addition of new screen settings. Players can turn smoothing on or off, for example, or adjust the screen size to standard, pixel perfect, or 16:9.
Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater also received long requested audio settings, which were notably missing from the original release alongside several other features that had fans upset. The full patch notes can be read below.
