Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima has high praise for Oscar Isaac's Moon Knight, highlighting the legendary creative's agreement with most Marvel Cinematic Universe fans.
Kojima is a Japanese video game designer who first became legendary following his creation of Metal Gear, a highly successful action-adventure title that laid the groundwork for the stealth genre and the Metal Gear franchise that is still popular today. Throughout his career, Kojima has expressed a deep appreciation for film and literature, even going so far as to say that iconic filmmaker Guillermo del Toro saved his career in game design. As a result, it’s no secret that Kojima would enjoy a project like Moon Knight, a unique experience widely acclaimed by fans and critics alike.
While Moon Knight arguably had the MCU's best season finale, Kojima would only recently take to his official account on X to share his thoughts and briefly review the miniseries. Sharing three Japanese posters for the series and one close-up of leading man Isaac, Kojima would share a lengthy caption explaining the late review. “I have always wanted to watch «Moon Knight» because I am a fan of Oscar Isaac, but I held out until the BD-box came out. I joined Disney Plus to watch the documentary, so I immediately watched the first episode,” Kojima revealed in his tweet before finally giving his impression of the series. “What a surprise! This is so original! The artwork, the world, the direction, the pacing! It's unlike any hero movie I've ever seen.” He then focused on Isaac, lauding the star for his stellar performance as the tortured protagonist.
Kojima's opinion is no surprise, as Isaac is the best part of Moon Knightby all reckoning. The unique nature of the series and the strong showing from its lead actor in terms of character work are sure to get some fans drawing parallels to Kojima's other interests and even some of his own body of work. The pervasive sense of fatigue that has plagued the MCU and superhero projects
